I was a hurricane Katrina responder and only made it as far South as Sardis before I had to rest for the night. I had rescue dogs with me when I arrived at the 'no pet' motel and when they found out that I was an individual responder they: 1) Gave us a free room for as long as we needed one, 2) Welcomed the dogs with open arms and told me not to worry about it, 3) The owners collected money to send to the victims, 4) They got my gas tank filled up in town when the stations were closing. These people are not from the US, but I was blown away by their love of this country and their all out effort to help others. It is not fancy, but these people are worth supporting in my opinion. We need more people like them! So thank you again Lake Inn! I will never ever forget your kindness to strangers in their hours of need. That is about as "patriotic" as it can possibly get and I salute you people for a job well done!
